PUCK
Bikers can use the cycle lane situated along the Bay shore from Rozgard up to the so-called Duck's Corner (Kaczy Winkiel). Experienced cyclists can ride even further. The cycle lane makes it possibile to travel along the Bay shore from Puck to Hel via Swarzewo and Jastarnia without any interruption. The lane is nearly 40 kilometres long.
Other sport lovers will also find something for themselves. They can visit the gym, the track-and-field stadium, sports playgrounds, the bowling alley and the shooting range. On the ecologic green beach there are beach ball fields.
CULTURAL EVENTS
The Kashubian culture is distinguished by two major events. One is the marine pilgrimage of the fishermen to the Saint Peter and Paul's Fair at the Gothic church in Puck. This event is held on 29th June. This day the fishing boats from Puck and the Hel Peninsula harbours go out on the Puck Bay where the pilgrims meet on the water and pray together. Afterwards, all boats return to the Puck church for the holy mass. It is a very picturesque event which attracts a lot of tourists as well as many inhabitants from the neighbourhood every year.
The other important event is the anniversary of the marriage of Poland with the sea which took place on 10th February 1920. On that historic day General Jozef Haller made this great achievement. On every anniversary the General's successor comes on horseback to the fishing port and throws a symbolic ring into the Bay water as a sign of marriage.
Puck is an ideal destination for those who like peace and quiet. There is no resort uproar or holiday glamour here.
